Abstract
The present study was designed to evaluate the potential effects of Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) and Ashwagandha (Withania.Somnifera) supplementation on semen quality of Baladi bucks under summer heat stress conditions. Ten healthy mature Baladi bucks were used in this study. Bucks were randomly divided into 3 groups. The first group (G1, n=3) received the basal diet supplemented with Fenugreek seed powder at a dose of 50 g/buck/day. The second group (G2, n=3) received the basal diet supplemented with Ashwagandha root powder at a level of 1 g/buck/day, while the third group served as a control group (G3, n=4) and received the basal diet without any supplementation. The animals were supplemented for 8 weeks. The semen and blood samples were collected from each buck once per week using an electroejaculator for 2 months. Immediately after collection of semen, individual motility, viability, abnormality, concentration, and plasma membrane integrity were evaluated. The results revealed that both Ashwagandha and Fenugreek could improve the semen quality of bucks during heat stress as semen quality parameters and testosterone level were elevated (P< 0.05). Furthermore, among the treated groups, Ashwagandha showed greater improvement over Fenugreek across all of the evaluated parameters (individual motility, viability, abnormality, concentration, plasma membrane integrity, and testosterone concentrations), exhibiting both greater magnitude and earlier onset of improvement in semen characteristics and testosterone levels (P< 0.05).

Key words: Keywords: Baladi bucks, Ashwagandha, Fenugreek, semen quality, testosterone , Heat stress.
