Abstract
One hundred and eighty shellfish samples were collected from different fish and shellfish markets retailed at Alexandria province. The examined samples were analyzed for isolation and identification of different Vibrio species in 50 Shrimp sample, 50 Crab sample , 40 Squid sample, and 40 Octopus Vulgaris sample, then the positive identified V. parahemolyticus isolates were confirmed by Multiplex PCR for detection of pathogenic genes of V. parahemolyticus (TLH, RecA, TRH and TRH genes) , the samples that confirmed to be infected with V. parahemolyticus were subjected to test their ability for decarboxylation and production of Biogenic amine (Histamine and Putrescine) in vitro by Niven's test. Results showed that numbers and percentages of V. alginolyticus , V.parahemolyticus, V.cholera , and V.vulnificus isolates were 24 (13.3%) , 19(10.5%) , 17(9.4%) , and 9(5%) , respectively with overall incidence 69(38.3%) Vibrio isolates in all shellfish samples, then 19 positive genetically identified V. parahemolyticus isolates were confirmed to have 19 TLH and 18 RecA genes with total number of 37 gene (11 TLH , 10 RecA in shrimp , 6 TLH , 6 RecA in Crab and 2 TLH , 2 RecA in Squid) by Multiplex PCR, also 19 genetically identified V. parahemolyticus isolates were confirmed to decarboxylase histidine and ornithine to histamine and putrescine biogenic amines by using Niven's test.

Key words: Key words: shellfish, V. parahemolyticus, V.cholera , V.alginolyticus V.vulnificus , Histamine , Putrescine and Multiplex PCR.
