Abstract
The objective of the current study is to investigate the hypolipidemic activity of green tea in induced hyperlipidemic rats through determination of lipid profile, atherogenic indices and to throw light on its liver and kidney protection ability in such condition. To achieve this aim, forty adult male albino rats (150±10 g) were used in which they were divided into equal four groups; Group I (control group) received free access to basal diet and water, Group II (sucrose rich diet) received ( 650g basal diet mixed with 350 g of sucrose), Group III (hyperlipidemic treated group with green tea) received sucrose rich diet and green tea extract at dose of ( 100 mg /kg B.W by stomach tube) , Group IV received basal diet with green tea extract ( 100 mg /kg B.W by stomach tube ). the experiment lasted for one month . Finally, blood samples were collected for biochemical analysis .

Key words: Hyperlidemia, Green tea, Sucrose, Atherogenic Indices.
