Abstract
Abstract:
The search for natural compounds stimulate tissue repair is a target. The current study aimed to assess the value of PRP with or without propolis for treatment of surgically induced full-thickness skin wounds in the back region in donkeys. Clinical wound characters following either PRP or propolis treatment proved good. Their combination showed marked reduction in wound dimension and formation of healthy scar. The histological parameters involved in wound healing confirmed the clinical wound characters. It could be concluded that the combination of propolis with PRP initiate their potency and enhance rapid and better wound repair. PRP and/or propolis advisable to be used for wound dressing due to their clinical value and easy preparation and application.

Key words: PRP, Platelet-rich plasma, Propolis, Wound healing, Cutaneous equine wounds,
